Our adults basics classes are designed to educate students thoroughly and efficiently on the fundamental elements of grappling. In the beginning of each 60 minute class, participants will complete a simple warm-up. Coaches will then explain the focus of the class (e.g escaping the mount position) and we will spend the remainder of the hour drilling and executing the relevant techniques under varying levels of resistance.
All basics classes in a given week will be focused on one element of our curriculum, making it easier for students to learn and retain the information. It is not necessary to attend all basics classes per week in order to progress, but we do recommend at least two where possible, for best results!
There is no required level of fitness required to join, jiu jitsu is an incredibly adaptive martial art, and our basics classes are suitable for teenagers and adults of all fitness levels and abilities.
Students of all belt ranks are encouraged to participate in this class weekly – the fundamental techniques of jiu jitsu should be the foundation for all levels.
